Further, Section 1946.2(d)(1) provides that tenants who have occupied their rental unit for at least 12 months must be compensated with relocation payments or waivers equal to a month's rent if they are evicted without just cause.

The purpose of the Uniform Act is to provide for uniform and equitable treatment of persons displaced from their homes, businesses, farms or nonprofit organizations, by federal and federally assisted programs and to establish uniform and equitable land acquisition policies for federal and federally assisted programs.

The Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act (URA), is a federal law that establishes minimum standards for federally funded programs and projects that require the acquisition of real property (real estate) or displace persons from their homes, businesses, or farms.

Therefore the state will usually only pay for relocation expenses for up to 60 days. Exceptions to this are only approved in rare instances. If you want to apply for an extension because of an unusual and unavoidable hardship you may submit your request on a STD.

Under the URA, all persons displaced as a direct result of acquisition, rehabilitation, or demolition, for a CDBG-assisted project, are entitled to relocation payments and other assistance under the URA. All acquisitions made in order to support a CDBG activity are subject to the URA.

Home / Program Offices / Community Planning and Development / CDBG-DR / Notices. CPD Notices. A CPD Notice is a document issued, by the office of Community Planning and Development, to clarify or inform regarding a specific item. CPD Notices explain how the program regulations should be interpreted or applied.

Codified at California Civil Code Section 1946.2, the Act, among other things, requires landlords of residential rental property to pay a relocation payment to covered tenants upon eviction for no-fault just cause, as defined in the Act.
