How to fill out the MO DoR MO-2210 online
This guide provides clear, step-by-step instructions for filling out the Missouri Department of Revenue Form MO-2210, which is used to assess underpayment of estimated tax by individuals. By following these instructions, users can confidently complete the form online.
Follow the steps to accurately complete the MO-2210 form online.
- Press the ‘Get Form’ button to access the MO DoR MO-2210 form in your preferred online editor.
- Begin by entering your Social Security Number in the designated field. Ensure that the format is correct — digits only and without spaces or dashes.
- Input the taxpayer's name as it appears on your tax return. If applicable, also enter the spouse’s name.
- Provide your complete address, including city, state, and ZIP code.
- Determine if you qualify for the Short Method for penalty calculation. If your estimated tax payments and withholding were made equally throughout the year and you do not annualize your income, fill out Part I and Part II.
- In Part I, Required Annual Payment, begin with Line 1 by entering your 2023 tax after credits as shown on Form MO-1040.
- On Line 2, multiply the amount from Line 1 by 90% (or 66 2/3% if you are a qualified farmer).
- Record your withholding taxes on Line 3. Do not include any estimated tax payments in this calculation.
- Subtract Line 3 from Line 1 and if the result is less than $500, you do not owe a penalty, and you should not file this form.
- On Line 5, enter the tax amount from your 2022 tax return. If you did not file for 2022, proceed directly to Line 6.
- For Line 6, enter the smaller amount of either Line 2 or Line 5. If Line 3 is equal to or more than Line 6, stop here as no penalty is owed.
- If qualifying for the Short Method, complete Part II. Begin by entering your total estimated tax payments on Line 8.
- Add Line 7 and Line 8 to complete Line 9.
- Subtract Line 9 from Line 6 to determine your total underpayment for the year on Line 10.
- Follow through the calculations as required in Part II and beyond, ensuring that all entries are accurate based on your financial records.
- Once all sections are completed, save your changes, and choose to download, print, or share the form as per your needs.
