Get (if Applicable, Provide) Hearing Date

At an individual hearing, you may present evidence and give testimony that you are eligible for immigration status and should remain in the United States. Your application could be based on a family relationship, fear of harm in your home country, or your time living in the United States.

Master hearings “are held for pleadings, scheduling, and other similar matters.” In other words, the master hearing is where the government informs you about the removal process and gives you a chance to respond.

A master calendar is like a pretrial hearing, and an individual hearing is where you'll have your trial as to whether or not you get deported. That's the main distinction. With master calendar hearings, you'll do things like they'll take pleading. In the notice to appear, it'll list a bunch of allegations.

The IJ will usually render their decision on the day you have your individual or merits hearing. Such decision is based on testimonies, witness presentations, and any other relevant evidence presented before the IJ. In most cases, the IJ will issue an oral decision unless he/she decides to do so in writing.

There you will find information about whether you can look up a court case online and what type of records you can see. Not all types of records are available online.
