Philanthropy awards are given to celebrate the leadership of individuals and organizations who advance innovative solutions and demonstrate meaningful progress in a community, association, or other nonprofit organization.

National Philanthropy Day is a special day set aside on the fifteenth of November. The purpose of this day is to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—to the enrichment of our world.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional association of individuals and organizations that generate philanthropic support for a wide variety of charitable institutions. Founded in 1960, AFP advances philanthropy through its 27,000 members in more than 240 chapters throughout the world.

This award recognizes service by an individual ages 10–18 who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the community through direct financial support, development of charitable programs, volunteering and leadership in philanthropy. Nominees will be judged based on work done while they were 10–18 years old.

The Outstanding Philanthropist Award is presented to an individual or family with a record of exceptional generosity who has demonstrated civic and charitable leadership.
