Because of the great differences between Forms 990 and 990-EZ, TaxSlayer Pro cannot change one to the other. If you have created one and wish to or need to switch to the other, you will need to delete the return and restart it using the correct form.

Schedule L is only used by taxpayers who are increasing their standard deduction by reporting state or local real estate taxes, taxes from the purchase of a new motor vehicle, or from a net disaster loss reported on Form 4684.

The 990-EZ is considered the short-form return (as compared to the full Form 990), although it is more in-depth than the 990-N postcard. This four-page return is required of organizations with annual gross receipts between $50,000 and $200,000.

The 990 is the tax form the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires all 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable and nonprofit organizations to submit annually.
