Get Uniform Subpoena - Circuit Court For Washington County

Kevin R. Tucker was sworn as the re-elected Clerk of Court for Washington County on December 1, 2022.

On request of a party, the clerk shall prepare and issue a subpoena commanding a witness to appear to testify at a hearing or trial.

(1) A subpoena may be used to compel a witness to attend, give testimony, and produce and permit inspection, copying, testing, or sampling of designated documents, electronically stored information, or tangible things at a deposition to the extent permitted by Rule 2-402(a).

– The court shall enter judgment in favor of or against the moving party if the motion and response show that there is no genuine dispute as to any material fact and that the party in whose favor judgment is entered is entitled to judgment as a matter of law.

Rule 2-551 - In Banc Review (a) Generally. When review by a court in banc is permitted by the Maryland Constitution, a party may have a judgment or determination of any point or question reviewed by a court in banc by filing a notice for in banc review.

2 In relevant part, Maryland Rule 2-519 provides as follows: (a) Generally. A party may move for judgment on any or all of the issues in any action at the close of the evidence offered by an opposing party, and in a jury trial at the close of all the evidence.

A subpoena shall be served by delivering a copy to the person named or to an agent authorized by appointment or by law to receive service for the person named or as permitted by Rule 2-121 (a)(3).

Unless impracticable, a party shall make a good faith effort to cause a trial or hearing subpoena to be served at least five days before the trial or hearing. A person may not serve or attempt to serve a subpoena more than 60 days after its issuance.
