Heat is the safest, fastest and most effective treatment available today. Bed Bugs have developed a very high resistant's to pesticides but have no Resistance to HEAT. If done properly a Heat Treatment is 100% effective.

We recommend holding the room temperature at 130°F for 4-6 hours and assuring yourself there are no cool spots in the room.

The thermal death point is determined by two things; temperature, and exposure time. Bed bugs ex- posed to 113°F will die if they receive constant exposure to that temperature for 90 minutes or more. However, they will die within 20 minutes if exposed to 118°F.

Temperature That Kills Bed Bugs Adult bed bugs die at 119 degrees Fahrenheit, and their heat-resistant eggs require temperatures upwards of 125 degrees. Some infested objects can be safely baked in the oven at these temperatures for three to five hours to get rid of the pests.

The goal is to bring the room and its contents to a minimum temperature of 120 degrees and maintain this temperature for 2 to 24 hours. Create convection by using fans to circulate the heated air. Address piles and clutter that do not heat evenly. Never spray repellant bed bug chemicals or foggers.

Bedbug extermination is expensive because it requires a lot of specialized equipment and time. For example, heat treatment requires costly specialized heaters.

Bed bugs ex- posed to 113°F will die if they receive constant exposure to that temperature for 90 minutes or more. However, they will die within 20 minutes if exposed to 118°F. Interestingly, bed bug eggs must be exposed to 118°F for 90 minutes to reach 100% mortality.

Can a Hair Dryer Kill Bed Bugs? Though a hair dryer emits hot air, it's not reliable for killing bed bugs. Hair dryers generally do not reach the high temperatures required and would also take an impractical amount of time.
