Failing Academic Probation If you fail to raise cumulative GPA during your probationary period, or your probationary period GPA is below the minimum, you will be placed on academic suspension pending your academic dismissal.

The requirements to be on the dean's list are: 3.500 or higher term GPA. In good academic standing. Enrolled in at least half-time (6 semester hours per full semester)

Class standing or student classification for undergraduates at Northeastern is dependent upon the number of credit hours students have earned: freshmen (0-29 earned credit hours), sophomores (30-59 earned hours), juniors (60-89 earned hours), seniors (90+ earned hours).

Your Academic Standing is based primarily on your cumulative grade point average (CGPA) but may also be affected by your term grade point average (TGPA). The Standing in each term determines if you are allowed to continue your studies in the next term, and if any conditions will be attached to your registration.

To be in academic good standing, an undergraduate student must continuously maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.000 on a 4.000 scale and must also make continuous satisfactory academic progress.

A student whose overall GPA falls below 3.000 will be automatically placed on academic probation and will be notified by the college. Once on probation, a student has one academic semester (summer excluded) to achieve a 3.000 GPA.

When a student's cumulative (overall) and current (most recent term) grade point averages are 2.0 or better, that student is in good academic standing. If either the cumulative or current G.P.A. falls below 2.0, the student is on academic probation. A student whose current (term) G.P.A.

How can I return to Good Academic Standing? In order to return to good academic standing, students must: Maintain a GPA of at least a 2.0 for the Semester on Probation.
