After the project is complete, write-up the “Project Report” in the Workbook: The Scout will need to complete the section titled “Eagle Scout Service Project Report” (the Project Report pages A - C. Remember to obtain signatures of completion from the Unit Leader and Beneficiary.
You must submit the project proposal with a completed signature page (using the most current version of the workbook!) that includes the appropriate unit leaders, the project beneficiary, and the Scout. If necessary, you can include a separate scanned page with the signatures.
Upon completion of the project, the Life Scout will complete the Eagle Scout Service Project Report and sign page C of the report; then secure the signature of his/her unit leader and the representative of the beneficiary organization.
Take Advice, but Give Direction. As a leader, you should listen to the perspectives of your volunteers and adult leaders. After all, they're the ones who will be doing most of the physical work in your project. However, it'll be up to you, as the project's leader, to have the final say.
A project proposal must be approved by the organization benefiting from the effort, your unit leader and unit committee, and the council or district before you start. You must use the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook, BSA publication No. 512-927, in meeting this requirement.
