Understanding Missouri SIS Probation In Missouri, there are generally two forms of probation – SIS probation and SES probation. SIS (Suspended Imposition of Sentence) probation is where a defendant pleads guilty to or is found guilty of a criminal offense, and then is placed on SIS probation for a fixed period of time.

Community control: This is the strictest type of probation. Many individuals perceive community control as a jail sentence, but without actually going to jail. This probation involves the use of ankle monitors for the entire duration of the probation period.

Unsupervised probation, also known as informal probation, is the lowest level of probation and typically requires the offender to comply with conditions such as regular check-ins with a probation officer and participation in counseling or drug treatment. Low-risk offenders are usually granted this type of probation.

The sentencing Court has authority to reduce the Probation supervision term they originally established and the Parole Board can authorize an early discharge from Parole or Conditional Release. The Division of Probation and Parole can also discharge an offender early based on Earned Compliance Credits.

3 Levels of Supervision Level 1: Supervised probation $30 per month. Level 2: Supervised probation until all conditions completed, then changes to unsupervised probation, if no violations. $30 per month. Level 3: Driving records and criminal history will be checked regularly.

The granting of an Early Discharge rests primarily with the sentencing Court or the Parole Board. The Court may consider an Early Discharge for offenders that comply with their supervision conditions. The Parole Board can do this as well after the offender has completed three years of supervision in the community.
