A classroom reward system is a method of celebrating student achievement and positive behaviour. It involves consistent efforts to bring out the best in students and motivate them to perform their best. Additionally, this system encourages teachers to become more engaged in the classroom.

Description. A process by which organisms acquire information about stimuli, actions, and contexts that predict positive outcomes, and by which behavior is modified when a novel reward occurs, or outcomes are better than expected.

Classroom reward systems can include things like handing out certificates, stickers on marked work and whole class reward charts where students compete for rewards. The aim of a classroom reward system is to increase motivation in students by positively reinforcing their efforts.

Classroom reward systems use tangible 'reinforcers', such as s or stickers, to reward and promote positive behaviour for learning. These reinforcers are used as physical 'merit points' and are awarded to pupils for doing something well, such as: exhibiting target behaviour for learning.

'Reward system refers to all the monetary, non-monetary and psychological payments that an organisation provides for its employees in exchange for the work they perform. ' Rewards schemes may include extrinsic and intrinsic rewards.

Results indicated that all teachers in the sample use some kind of reward in their classroom. The majority of teachers thought that rewards can help increase participation and academic achievement.

Rewards and reward systems are often used by teachers to support their children in the classroom. Rewards provide an incentive to children to learn, behave and achieve. For example, when a child makes a good effort, teachers give them a star or when a child's behaviour improves, they earn extra golden time.

Examples of employee rewards include discretionary bonuses, gift cards, lunch or dinner at a favorite restaurant, additional paid time off (PTO), tickets to a sporting event, or even a special award ceremony.
