Other common style disjunct adverbs include bluntly, briefly, candidly, frankly, generally, genuinely, honestly, largely, mostly, personally, seriously, truthfully etc. and form a useful teaching set.

The Oxford Learner's Dictionary defines an adjunct as “an adverb or a phrase that adds meaning to the verb in a sentence or part of a sentence”, and ing to the Cambridge Dictionary, an adjunct is “an adverb or phrase that gives extra information in a sentence”.

1. Conjuncts' inability but disjuncts' ability to be pre- or postmodified. 2. Conjuncts' and style disjuncts' ability to occur in direct (both yes-no and wh- questions) as well as indirect questions as opposed to attitudinal/content disjuncts' inability to do so.

Adjuncts provide additional information (What, when, where, why, how) about the subject, verb, object, etc. For example, “Mahatma Gandhi never told a lie”. Disjuncts provide the writer's opinion, beliefs and impressions. For example, “Surprisingly, he spoke the truth”.
