The credit is limited to $300 each taxable year. No credit is allowed for expenses paid from public source funds. If you elect to file as a nonresident, file SC1040 with Schedule NR. You will be taxed only on income earned while a resident in South Carolina and will prorate your deductions and exemptions. All personal service income earned in South Carolina must be reported to this state.
