Michigan law mandates how long cases involving child custody can take: no more than 360 days from filing. The Friend of the Court office makes sure parents have final orders by then.

This means the mother has sole authority to make decisions for the child until there is a court order regarding custody. If the parents are unmarried and there is no court order in place, the mother does not need court permission to move with a child.

(1) Three (3) weeks (only 2 consecutive) for each parent. The single week shall consist of seven (7) consecutive overnights to begin on a Sunday at 8pm. The two-week period shall consist of 14 consecutive overnights to begin on a Sunday at 8pm. (2) Parties shall exchange summer parenting time dates by May 1st.
