Large Quantity Generator (LQG) RCRA requirements for this classification include: On-site storage of waste cannot exceed 90 days. Waste must be stored inside tanks or other types of containers that conform to the requirements laid out in 40 CFR Part 265. An EPA identification number must be obtained.

Small Quantity Generators generate more than 100 kilograms, but less than 1,000 kilograms of hazardous waste per month. Large Quantity Generators generate 1,000 kilograms per month or more of hazardous waste, or more than 1 kilogram per month of acutely hazardous waste.

Conditional Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQGs) What is a CESQG? A CESQG generates the smallest amount of hazardous waste and as a result is the least-regulated type of hazardous waste generator.

You are considered a Large Quantity Generator (LQG) if you generate 1,000 kg (2,200 lbs) or more of non-acute hazardous waste or more than 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of acutely hazardous waste per calendar month.

RCRA Large Quantity Generators of Hazardous Waste produce in one calendar month during a reporting year: Greater than or equal to 1,000 kilograms (2,200 lbs.) or more of non‐acute RCRA hazardous waste (which includes quantities imported by importer site); or. Greater than 1 kg. (2.2 lbs.)

A large quantity generator (LQG) can accumulate hazardous waste on site for up to 90 days in specified units without obtaining a storage permit or interim status, provided the facility complies with Part 262 management standards for specific units (section 262.17 ).

What is an SQG? An SQG generates more hazardous waste than a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG) and therefore has more hazardous waste requirements to comply with than a CESQG, but fewer requirements than a Large Quantity Generator (LQG).

The quantity of waste held at one time may never exceed 6,000 kilograms (13,200 pounds). Generator must meet the requirements of 40 Code of Federal Regulations section 262.34 subsections (d), (e), and (f).
