How Do I...Withdraw from a Course? (W Policy) Students must formally request to apply the W Grade option to a course by the last day of classes of each term. ... Courses with the new grade mode of "W" will appear on the transcript with a "W" grade, but will not count in the GPA hours nor in any GPA calculations.

A grade of "W" will not impact your GPA and does not count as completed credit toward your degree.

Go in person to the registrar's office to get a class withdrawal sheet. Some institutions also accept withdrawals through email. Look on your school's website for an email address for the registrar's office or the academic advisor's office. When in doubt, contact an academic advisor.

Withdrawal Procedures Students must submit written notice of withdrawal to the Office of the Registrar no later than the last day of classes. The effective date of the withdrawal for purposes of any refund is the date that the written withdrawal notice is received by the Office of the Registrar.

Students may withdraw from course(s) online through Workday. A grade of W will be denoted on the student's transcript for withdrawn class. The deadline to withdraw for each enrolled course is listed on the student's Class Schedule. Students are permitted a maximum of two attempts and/or withdrawals per course.

A student may withdraw from a course(s) by the deadline printed on the Academic Calendar each semester. The course(s) remain on the student schedule and permanent record with a designation of W. Students without holds preventing registration activity may withdraw online using Banner Self Service by the deadline date.

If you must withdraw, always withdraw officially It is preferable to withdraw by meeting with an advisor. It's important to make sure that your official withdrawal was processed. If you can't meet with an advisor, you can usually also officially withdraw from classes using your online student account.

A student desiring to withdraw from courses after the last day to drop courses (usually the 10th day of the Fall and Spring semesters and the equivalent academic period during the Summer sessions) must obtain a Course Withdrawal Form from the Registrar's Office.
