Under Texas law there is no waiting period before a record of a missing person can be filed. The law requires that a law enforcement agency immediately enter a record of a missing child into the National Crime Information Center's (NCIC) Missing Person File (Article 63.009, Code of Criminal Procedures).

There is no time limit that you must wait to report a person as missing, whether he/she is considered missing or a runaway. Call the North Miami Police at 305-891-8111 immediately.

The employee goes to the nearest in-house telephone and pages Code Adam, describing the child's physical features and clothing. As designated employees monitor front entrances, other employees begin looking for the child. If the child is not found within 10 minutes, law enforcement is notified.

1-800-346-3543. The Missing Persons Clearinghouse is responsible for providing assistance to law enforcement agencies handling cases involving children, college students and vulnerable adults who have gone missing.

Immediately report your child as missing to your local law enforcement agency. Ask investigators to enter your child into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Missing Persons File. There is no waiting period for entry into NCIC for children under age 18.

Within available resources, the clearinghouse may collect, process, maintain, and disseminate information to help locate missing persons other than children (CGS § 29-1f).

(2) "Missing person" means a person 18 years old or older whose disappearance is possibly not voluntary.
