How much does WA L&I pay?

How Much Does L&I Pay For Time-Loss? Time-loss payments will not be as much as your regular paycheck. Time-loss pays 60-75% of the wage you were earning before your injury.

If you are eligible for an L&I disability pension, you will receive a non-taxable payment every month for the rest of your life. Under State Washington law (WAC 296-14-150), gainful employment is defined as a regular occupation for income, salary, or wages.

Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) pension benefits are awarded to injured workers who will never be able to return to gainful employment due to a severe or life-threatening injury.

You may choose to receive your payments by check or direct deposit into banks or credit unions within the U.S. and U.S. territories. If you wish to receive your payment electronically, please complete a Payment Method Authorization form. Your pension is non-taxable, so we do not send out 1099s or W-2s.

See RCW 51.08. 178 & 51.32. 090. In such cases, the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) will reimburse you for lost time and wages—typically between 60-75% of the worker's earnings prior to the injury or illness up to a maximum cap.

A monthly pension payment is approximately the same as your time-loss compensation payment. For example, a single person with no dependents gets 60% of wages. Time-loss payments are bi-weekly whereas pension payments are monthly. Hence, the annual value of your time-loss is one time-loss payment times 26.

Here's how L&I calculates the premium rate for each of the business's risk classifications: Multiplying the business's experience factor by the sum of the Accident Fund, Medical Aid Fund, and Stay at Work base rates, and then. Adding the base rate for the Supplemental Pension Fund.
