You must have obtained a graduate degree in speech-language pathology from a New York State registered licensure qualifying program, a program accredited by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), or the equivalent.

To renew a license, all nurses must complete the online renewal process or submit the paper renewal application, attest to having met the requirements of continued competency, and pay the renewal fee. APRN: APRN licenses expire on October 31st of each even-numbered year.

To reapply or request reinstatement of your license, go to the Professions and Occupations page, click on your license type, click on Applications, and complete the Application for License or Application for Reinstatement. Please note that we cannot provide same-day processing.

School Setting Requirements Speech-language pathology assistants must work under the direct supervision of a qualified language, speech, and hearing specialist and their services must be specified in the IEP. No more than two assistants may be supervised by one qualified language, speech, and hearing specialist.

Massachusetts-licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Audiologists are required to renew their licenses biennially, on January 6th of even-numbered years. 20 hours of continuing education are required to renew (30 hours if dual-licensed). A minimum of 10 hours must be earned in the area of licensure.

The term is hyphenated on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association website, so I would use the hyphen. This is the credentialing organization for speech-language pathologists. Capitalization is a matter of grammar and academic style.

LC 10-76 RESOLVED, That the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association endorses the official title speech-language pathologist (SLP) for those qualified individuals who diagnose, prognose, prescribe for and/or remediate speech and/or language disorders.

The speech-language pathologist's credentials should look like: MS, CCC-SLP or MA, CCC-SLP. If their credentials are MS, CF-SLP or MA, CF-SLP, this means that they recently finished graduate school and are in their first year of supervised clinical practice.

CCC-SLP stands for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology open_in_new, a nationally recognized professional credential from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

The CF (also called the SLPCF) can be started once all graduate academic course work and graduate clinical practicum requirements for certification have been completed.
