Traffic abstracts may be requested by mail. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope, along with a money order or cashiers check for $20 (payable to District Court), and the individual's full name, date of birth and driver's license number. The request should be mailed to the District Court in your circuit.

Anyone who has never held a Hawaii driver's license or instruction permit, must apply in-person and provide documentary proof of legal name, date of birth, social security number, legal presence and Hawaii principal residence address. A photograph must also be taken.

You may obtain a copy of your Hawaii Driver History Record (DHR) by visiting one of the District Courts or by writing to any of the District Courts listed below. The DHR is intended for operators of commercial vehicles to keep track of and show all of the CDL disqualifying conviction types as specified in FMCSA rules.
