Using the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) is the easiest way for individuals as well as businesses to pay federal taxes. Make ALL of your federal tax payments including federal tax deposits (FTDs), installment agreement and estimated tax payments using EFTPS.

What is the difference between Direct Pay and EFTPS? EFTPS is used for most business payments. EFTPS may save you time if you are making quarterly estimated tax payments or making frequent payments. Direct Pay may be faster if you have an immediate payment deadline and have never used EFTPS.

Web Pay – Make a payment online or schedule a future payment (up to one year in advance). Go to ftb.ca.gov/pay for more information. Do not mail Forms 540-ES to us. Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW) – Individuals can make an extension or estimated tax payment using tax preparation software.

Sign In to Pay You will need to create an IRS Online Account before using this option. View the amount you owe, your payment plan details, payment history, and any scheduled or pending payments. Make a same day payment from your bank account for your balance, payment plan, estimated tax, or other types of payments.

Three Ways to Pay Pay your taxes online at .eftps.gov, over the phone, or through your tax professional, payroll service, or financial institution.

A variety of payments can be made through EFTPS, including: Estimated taxes. Corporate taxes. Self-employment taxes. Payroll taxes, including Federal Insurance Contribution Act taxes. Excise taxes on alcohol, gasoline and certain other goods.

To make estimated tax payments online, first establish an account with the IRS at the EFTPS website. Once you have an EFTPS account established, you can schedule automatic withdrawals for your quarterly estimated taxes, specifying the amounts and the dates of the payments.

How to pay quarterly taxes You can submit them online through the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System. You can also pay using paper forms supplied by the IRS. When you file your annual tax return, you'll pay the balance of taxes that weren't covered by your quarterly payments.
