New Nebraska IFTA Fuel Tax Accounts You will need to complete a Nebraska application form and submit by mail or in person to the Motor Carrier Services. Incomplete applications will be returned, which will delay processing. There is a $10 fee for the first vehicle +$1 for each additional vehicle.

Individuals have 30 days after arriving in Nebraska to obtain a Nebraska title and registration for their vehicles. If your current title is being held by a lien holder or lessor you will need to contact your County Motor Vehicle Office to initiate a request for your out-of-state title from your lien holder/lessor.

When applying for your initial State Identification card you must bring the following documentation to the DMV: Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Status, containing Name and Date of Birth, and Identity. Principal Address in Nebraska (at least two documents are required).

You can obtain a driver's license in any Nebraska DMV driver licensing office. Vehicle titles and registrations are issued in the county where you reside.

Appointments are required for car and motorcycle drive tests and highly recommended for all other driver licensing and state ID services in Bellevue, Lincoln, and Omaha. Limited walk-in assistance is available.
