The batting order, also called the lineup, is the order in which the offensive players on a team go to bat. The lineup is determined by the manager and other coaches and changes with every game depending on strategy and which players are in the game.

The batting order, or batting lineup, in baseball is the sequence in which the nine members of the offense take their turns in batting against the pitcher. The batting order is set by the manager before the game begins (although substitutions may subsequently take place).

Lineup sheets are printed on 3-part NCR and sold in sets of 100. They are 3½” x 10” in size and have room for 10 starters and their substitutes, as well as spots for seven additional roster players.

Understand that the traditional method of making a lineup is to use your very best hitters for the first three spots and then fill out the remaining slots with your fourth-best hitter, then your fifth, sixth, and so on. However, be aware that there is some debate about this.

Download a copy of the lineup card....Before the game: Fill in region, age group, team number and game date. Fill in your team name and opponent name. Fill in your entire roster, ordered by jersey number. Write "sick" or "absent" next to player's name if they are not in attendance. Fill in game date and time.

In baseball, a cleanup hitter is the fourth hitter in the batting order. The cleanup hitter is traditionally the team's most powerful hitter. His job is to "clean up the bases", i.e., drive in base runners.
