An automatic power factor controller monitors the power factor, which is the result of the ratio of real and apparent power. We tend to establish the power factor close to unity. The automatic power factor controller is used in electrical systems to improve the power factor in case of falls below a determined level.

APFC is an automatic power factor control panel which is used to improve the power factor, whenever required, by switching ON and OFF the required capacitor bank units automatically.

Improving the power factor results in less current being drawn, therefore less electricity costs, less heat and greater longevity of the electrical system. the installation, thus reduces the maximum demand tariff and thereby reducing your power costs.

Calculation of required capacitor: Suppose Actual P.F is 0.8, Required P.F is 0.98 and Total Load is 516KVA. Power factor = kwh / kvah. kW = kVA x Power Factor. = 516 x 0.8 = 412.8. Required capacitor = kW x Multiplying Factor. = (0.8 x 516) x Multiplying Factor.

Active/automatic power factor correction/control (panel), used to control the power factor of electrical loads.

APFC is an automatic power factor control panel which is used to improve the power factor, whenever required, by switching ON and OFF the required capacitor bank units automatically.

Power Factor Correction works by automatically switching capacitors in or out of circuit on a varying electrical load to counteract the negative inefficient effects of motors and machines.
