A Client Authorisation is a Document that enables a Party to a transaction (the Client) to authorise a conveyancer or lawyer to act on their behalf in that transaction.

A party to a real property transaction may authorise a registered conveyancer or legal practitioner to act on their behalf. A client authorisation form is used for this purpose.

An authorization form is a document that is duly endorsed by an individual or organisation which grants permission to another individual or organisation to proceed with certain actions. It is often used to grant permission to carry out a specific action for a fixed period of time.

Capacity means the role of the signatory (for example an attorney or a director of a company). Client means the person or persons named in this Client Authorisation. Client Agent means a person authorised to act as the Client's agent but does not include the Representative acting solely in this role.

To ensure the process is secure and there are no fraudulent signatures, to lodge documents via PEXA a Client Authorisation Form (“CAF”) is required and a Verification of Identity (“VOI”) process must be undertaken.
