Where can I make an ATOL claim?

Welcome to the official CAA ATOL Claims Portal In line with the Air Travel Trust (ATT) Payment Policy (http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/20212407PaymentPolicy.pdf) the ATT can only accept consumer claims submitted within 12 months of an ATOL holder's failure. Any claim submitted for these failures will be refused.

You will be required to complete a claim form. We will require a completed claim form, evidence of the booking, so include all documentation issued to you, and evidence of payment for the trip, include bank statements, you may blank out any transactions not associated with the payments to the failed ATOL holder.

An ATOL Certificate is a consumer's proof that the trip or flight is protected by ATOL. It tells them what protection they have and what to do if the ATOL holder or supplier fails.

We aim to acknowledge claims within 5 working days of receipt. If your claim is fully completed and we do not require any additional information or evidence, we aim to process your claim in a timely manner. Under normal circumstances, we estimate this to be 28 working days from receipt of your completed claim.

ATOL protection safeguards your money if your travel company or airline goes out of business. If they go bust before your holiday starts, you'll get a full refund. If your travel company goes out of business while you're away, ATOL protection means you can finish your holiday and get home safely.

An ATOL Certificate must be issued immediately to the consumer upon taking any payment either by the ATOL holder or its authorised agent. ATOL holders need to ensure that their agents have the ability to issue an ATOL Certificate if they cannot create one using the ATOL holders own booking systems.

Making a claim The refund process is quite straightforward; ATOL Protected consumers should complete an ATOL Claim Form and provide the documents they have been issued with as evidence that they had a contract with a failed ATOL holder, along with the evidence of payments made.
