Station 12 will advise you verbally of the performer's SAG-AFTRA membership status and/or financial obligations, if any. Written confirmation will be mailed to Producer or Producer's representative.

Please submit your application no less than 4-6 weeks before your first date of work, including travel, rehearsal, and principal photography. Failure to submit a Preliminary Information Form or Signatory Application in a timely manner may result in delays and/or your project not being granted clearance by SAG-AFTRA.

⁠ ⁠ Station 12 refers to the report that a casting office must fill out and obtain from SAG before an actor begins their work on set. ⁠

All performers are entitled to one weekly rest period of 56 hours. The following are exceptions: A 56 hour rest period may be reduced to 54 hours provided the call time for the first day of the new workweek is no earlier than 6 am. A 36 hour rest period is allowable on a six day location workweek.

​Do All Actors Have a SAG Card? No, there are tons of non-union actors who do not have a SAG card! However, if you want to be able to perform in bigger productions, like major motion pictures and network television, you'll need a SAG card.
