Filling out the Wavecalc form is straightforward and user-friendly. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for each section, ensuring that you can effectively input the required data and achieve accurate wave calculations.

Follow the steps to successfully complete the Wavecalc form.

1. Click ‘Get Form’ button to obtain the Wavecalc form and open it in your editor.
2. In the data input area, enter atmospheric and hydraulic conditions in cells A2:D12. Start with the latitude in cell A4 to calculate gravity.
3. Input the wave generation depth (dg) in cell A6, keeping it at 200 m unless generating waves in shallow water.
4. Fill in the dynamic water viscosity (μ) and density (ρ) in cells A8 and A10. Default values are typically used for sea water.
5. Enter the sustained wind velocity (Ua) in cell A12. Leave other parameters like wave period (Tw), length (Lo), and height (Ho) as zero to let the program calculate them automatically.
6. Input the distance (x) from the wave crest and time lapse (t) in cells C4 and C6.
7. Specify the depth (d) for wave parameters in cell C10, which impacts shallow water calculations.
8. Enter the sea floor slope in cell C12 to calculate breaker height (Hb) and depth (db).
9. Input the sediment median grain size in cell D12 to aid in sediment transport calculations.
10. Review the output data area for calculated values and make any necessary adjustments before finalizing.
11. Once all fields are complete, save your changes, and choose to download, print, or share the Wavecalc form.
