- Click ‘Get Form’ button to access the form and open it in your preferred editing tool.
- Before importing data, ensure that you gather necessary student details from SIMS. This includes preferred forename, preferred surname, year group, registration group, date of birth, and gender.
- Gather the contact details from the 'Family/Home' section of SIMS. Ensure parental responsibility is indicated for contacts. Key information to extract includes contact type, title, forename, surname, primary email address, mobile number, address, and priority.
- Confirm that only one email address is marked as primary and only one mobile number is categorized as 'Mobile' for each contact in SIMS.
- Adjust permissions for SIMS users responsible for running and exporting your school data. Log into SIMS.net, access the 'Focus' section, and navigate to 'System Manager,' then 'Manage Groups'.
- Within the 'Members' section of 'Third Party Reporting', add relevant users by selecting them, and ensure to log out and back in for the changes to take effect.
- Import the report definition file if not previously imported by saving the file from ParentMail with the correct '.rptdef' extension.
- In SIMS, navigate to 'Reports', then 'Import'. Locate the saved report file and click 'OK' to mark it as 'Pending' before clicking 'Import' and 'Close'.
- Run the report in SIMS by selecting 'Reports', then 'Run Report', locating the appropriate report, and supplying the effective date. Save the file with a '.csv' extension.
- Log into ParentMail, navigate to 'Imports', and create a new import by selecting the saved CSV file. Confirm the import by selecting 'Queue Import'.
