C-Bus Voltage The standard C-Bus network voltage should be 34 V DC (this may vary slightly). We recommend 22 V DC as the minimum voltage on the network.

The unit number limit is dictated by the maximum short circuit current of 2A. (Note: A PC interface counts as two units which should be taken into consideration when counting the number of units per Power Supply). The minimum operating voltage of any C-Bus unit on the Network is 15Vd.

When you connect to CBus units that have terminals you will re-arrange the wire pairs at the end of the cable to use “opposite” colors, as follows: Positive supply: Orange and blue wires. Negative supply: Orange-white and blue-white wires.

With C-Bus, 240 volt electrical current does not flow to the light switch. C-Bus overcomes the problems with conventional wiring. It uses a twisted pair, typically UTP Category 5 LAN cable to communicate between the light switches and load controlling devices. No point-to-point wiring is required.

C-Bus Cable Type All C-Bus Networks use an Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP), Cat-5 (cable) as the communications medium. The Clipsal catalogue number for this product is 5005C305B. C-Bus Voltage The standard C-Bus voltage should be 36 V DC (this may vary slightly).

The C-Bus Cat-5 (cable) must not carry current in excess of 2 A (this is the Maximum C-Bus Current per Network). Either reduce the number of C-Bus power supply or split the network by using a network bridge(5500NB) in this case.
