- Begin by inspecting the condition of the unit. Ensure it is clean, free from spills or dust, and that the case is intact. Check all cables for any visible damage or dirt, making sure that connectors are present and clean.
- Confirm that the unit has a fully charged battery installed and a spare battery located in the designated pouch.
- Review the disposable consumables section. Ensure that ECG electrodes, alcohol wipes, printer/recorder paper, and SpO2 sensors for both adult and pediatric use are available and in good condition.
- Check the multifunction defibrillation pads. Ensure there is one pre-connected set for adults, along with a spare set, as well as a spare set of pediatric pads.
- Conduct operational checks by powering on the device. For M/E Series, turn the unit ON and confirm that a 4-beep tone is heard and that ‘Attach Pads’ is displayed. Complete the check by turning off the defibrillator.
- Run a defibrillator test by plugging the multifunction defibrillation cable into the test connector. Activate the machine, observe the prompts on screen, and follow instructions to complete the test.
- Record any deficits found during routine checks as required. If any issues are detected, indicate 'UNIT OUT OF SERVICE' if major problems arise, and notify the health center manager for repairs.
- After completing all sections of the checklist, make sure to save your changes. You can then download, print, or share the completed checklist document if necessary.
