Building a PPR on vacant land The purchaser must occupy their new home within 36 months from the date of settlement. To be eligible for the concession, the value of the vacant land must be $550,000 or less. Notably, a purchaser's eligibility is not impacted by the value of any building contract attached to the land.

Principal Place of Residence (PPR) Duty Concession You can get it if you meet the following requirements: Buy a new or established property valued up to $550,000. You must move into the property within 12 months of settlement. You must live in the property for at least 12 months continuously.

The land you own and occupy as your home is your principal place of residence (PPR) and is exempt from land tax.

A principal place of residence (PPR) duty concession is available when you buy a new or established property valued up to $550,000, which you intend to move into within 12 months of your settlement date and live in as your primary home for at least a year.

The Principal place of residence (PPR) concessional rate does not apply. VIC abolishes stamp duty for both new and existing properties under $600,000. First home buyers purchasing a property between $600,000 and $750,000 also receive a tapered discount.

Comparison of duty reduction amounts for PPR concession This starts at 1.4% for properties valued at $25,000 or less. For properties valued at more than $25,000 but less than $130,000 the rate is $350 plus 2.4% of the dutiable value that exceeds $25,000.
