As a strategic sponsor of the PRCA since 1989, the American Quarter Horse Association presents the AQHA/PRCA Horse of the Year Awards to the owners of competing timed-event horses judged by top PRCA and WPRA contestants as the best in their events.

Today, the PRCA boasts nearly 7,000 members (4,782 of whom are currently contestants) and sanctions a little more than 600 rodeos a year. The PRCA headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo., which includes the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy, opened in 1979.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Announces Multi-year Sponsorship Agreement Renewal With Molson Coors, Parent Company of Miller Lite. Today, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement renewal of Rodeo Heritage Partner Miller Lite.

The best place to begin finding rodeo sponsors is your own backyard. People in your own community will be most interested in the rodeo and supporting a local event. These community sponsors can be located at your local chamber of commerce, or by simply reaching out by phone, email, or in person.

The PRCA is excited to work with the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association to introduce a PRCA Academic Permit to the NIRA members. The purpose of this program is to allow NIRA members to pursue a Professional rodeo career in the PRCA while completing their college education.

This amount includes guaranteed prize money of $1.2 million for all NFR qualifiers and $9,700,098 in competition prize money. Based on the updated purse in 2022, the increase will see round winners take home $28,914 per round and average winners earn $74,150.

A PRCA permit costs $300 (a PRCA card costs $500), and includes insurance and event rep fees.

Cowboys who want to apply for membership in the PRCA must first obtain a permit card and then earn at least $1,000 at PRCA-sanctioned rodeos; there is no time limit to “fill” the permit. Money won under a permit card counts toward circuit standings, but not toward world standings or rookie standings.

1. Trevor Brazile. Trevor Brazile is one of the most talented rodeo cowboys of all time and has earned a record $6.94 million from the professional rodeo circuit. Brazile is the record-holder for most PRCA world championships with 26, his most recent title win being in 2020.
