In order to work as a certified nurse aide (CNA) in New York State, a person must successfully complete a nurse aide training program (NATP) delivered only by a program approved by NYSED or NYSDOH.

Students will care for patients under the supervision of a LPN and RN. During your training, you can even join the Nursing Student's Association of New York Stats (NSANYS). The CNA Training Program can cost anywhere from $500 to $2,000, depending on the program.

Program Length: CNA training programs can be completed in 4 to 12 weeks of study, which includes classroom instruction as well as clinical practice hours.

This 130-hour program is approved by New York State and provides both classroom instruction and a 30-hour clinical internship. Coursework includes anatomy and physiology, basic life support, and fundamentals of patient care.

Louisiana State Requirements for CNAs Candidates must undergo classes at a nurse aide competency evaluation program. This consists of at least 80 hours of classes at a state-approved program, with a combination of 40 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of practical experience.
