Sign on to MyDMV to see your status, change your address and renew your registration. You can use the online Registration and Insurance Status Inquiry to check your registration only. You may renew at a kiosk or in person at a DMV office.

You may renew approximately 35 days before expiration or up to 18 months after (late fees apply) using the online, kiosks or emission station options. Renew in person outside of these time frames. You must register your vehicle for a full year.

Registration Fee is $27.00 plus Governmental Services Tax and Supplemental Governmental Services Tax.

Oregon has the highest registration fees in the U.S.: between $268.50 and $636.50 for new vehicles and $122 and $306 to renew for two years. Florida follows with a new vehicle registration fee of $225.

Nevada charges a Registration Fee, a Governmental Services Tax and, in some counties, a Supplemental Governmental Services Tax. The Registration Fee funds state road construction and the DMV operating budget. The Governmental Services Tax funds local governments, school districts and the state General Fund.

Nevada Sales Tax on Car Purchases: Nevada collects a 8.1% state sales tax rate on the purchase of all vehicles. Some dealerships may also charge a 149 dollar documentary fee. In addition to taxes, car purchases in Nevada may be subject to other fees like registration, title, and plate fees.

Vehicle Title Nevada dealers are required to submit, to the DMV, all of the documents necessary to issue a Nevada title within 30 days of the date of the sale.
