How to fill out the F10 Form online
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for filling out the F10 Form online, ensuring that users can efficiently notify a construction project. Whether you are a client or someone acting on their behalf, this guide aims to make the process clear and straightforward.
Follow the steps to successfully complete the F10 Form
- Click ‘Get Form’ button to obtain the F10 Form and open it in the online editor.
- Select one of the two boxes at the top of the form. If notifying about a new project, choose ‘Initial notification’, which will auto-populate a Serial Number. Write this number down for future reference. If updating an existing notification, select ‘Update to existing notification’, input your serial number, and the email address of the principal designer, then select Retrieve details.
- If your project has multiple site locations, check the box for multiple sites, and provide the main site details along with descriptions of other locations in the ‘Briefly describe the project and the construction work it contains’ text field on page 2.
- Fill in the site details. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*). If no exact address exists, use grid references or other descriptors for location identification.
- Click ‘Next’ at the bottom of the page. If all mandatory information is correct, you will proceed to page 2. If any details are missing, an alert will prompt you to provide the necessary information.
- On page 2, select the best description of your project from the drop-down list. Avoid ‘Other’ unless necessary, in which case provide a detailed description in the text field below.
- Use the ‘Briefly describe the project and the construction work it contains’ text field to outline the specifics of the construction work, activities involved, and any additional information about site locations.
- Enter the time allowed by the client for the principal contractor to complete the construction work in weeks.
- Select the expected start date for the construction phase using the calendar icon.
- Enter the planned duration of the construction phase in weeks, ensuring that the project meets the notification requirements.
- Provide the estimated maximum number of people working on site simultaneously, and the maximum number of contractors on site at any point. Note that if this number exceeds 99, simply input ‘99’.
- Click ‘Next’ to advance to page 3, ensuring all necessary details are provided.
- Fill in the minimum required duty holder details, including the client, principal designer, and principal contractor. You can use ‘tbc’ if the contractor has not been appointed yet.
- Add each duty holder's details by selecting their role, completing mandatory fields, and clicking ‘Add’ to list them at the bottom.
- After adding all required duty holder details, click ‘Next’ to carry on to page 4.
- Select one of the two declarations based on your role regarding the client.
- Fill in your name, date, and project role.
- Enter the email address to which you want the copy of your F10 form to be sent; ensure both email address fields match.
- After verifying all details, select ‘Submit’ to send your completed form to the relevant authority. An email confirmation will be sent with your serial number.
