LMIA Application form (EMP5593) ... Schedule D Skilled trades job offer Employer #2 (EMP5595) (if applicable) job offer (signed by the employer and the foreign worker) proof of business legitimacy.

In most cases, your employer needs a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to support your job offer for Express Entry. Some jobs do not need an LMIA. you have a valid work permit that is exempt from an LMIA under: an international agreement.

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. ... Once an employer gets the LMIA, the worker can apply for a work permit.

Typically, foreign workers and employers must go through a two-step process in order to receive a Canadian work permit. First, the applicant must submit an application to ESDC for a Labor Market Impact Assessment, followed by a second application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for the actual work permit.

LMIA processing times can be somewhat unpredictable, ranging from a couple of weeks, to a few months. Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has pledged to process certain LMIA applications within 10 business days.

Generally, this process takes three months. This includes one month of upfront advertising, before the application can be filed, and a further two months of government processing time, after filing. Only once the LMIA application is approved, can a work permit application be filed.
