Contact support

If a compressor's electrical terminal pin is damaged, weakened or otherwise loses its seal and separates from the compressor terminal, pressurized oil, refrigerant and debris may spray out. This is called “terminal venting.”

Terminal weaning is a clinical intervention for withdrawing mechanical ventilatory support when such support is an unacceptable outcome for a patient. Withdrawal of life support must be done in a humane manner for the patient, the family, and the patient's care providers.

TECHNIQUES OF WEANING gradual reduction in mandatory rate during intermittent mandatory ventilation. gradual reduction in pressure support. spontaneous breathing through a T-piece. spontaneous breathing with ventilator on 'flow by' and PS=0 with PEEP=0.

Terminal weaning involves gradual decrease of the ventilator settings to the minimum over 10 to 60 minutes, then ventilatory support is discontinued. Immediate extubation consists of discontinuation of mechanical ventilation without any previous decrease in the ventilator settings.

Weaning is the act of decreasing oxygenation and ventilation support via the mechanical ventilator, and allowing the patient to assume greater control of breathing. Extubation is the liberation from mechanical ventilation, and involves the discontinuation of respiratory support and removal of the endotracheal tube.

In terminal weaning, the ventilator rate, positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), and oxygen levels are decreased while the endotracheal tube is left in place. Terminal weaning may be carried out over a period of as little as 30 to 60 minutes (see reference 3 for a protocol).

Terminal weaning was a gradual decrease in the amount of ventilatory assistance and immediate extubation was extubation without any previous decrease in ventilatory assistance.
