Transcripts that have been in the hands of the student such as student copy/unofficial transcripts are not considered official. Unofficial transcripts are printed on plain paper and do not have a college seal or registrar's signature. Unofficial transcripts cannot be used to transfer to another college or university.

Log in to your Common App account. Click My Application, and then click Colleges Attended. 2. Next to each college/program you have selected, you will see a notation about transcripts and a link to order transcripts.

An "unofficial" transcript is generally considered anything that doesn't bear the "sign and seal" (or equivalent) of the issuing institution, as well as any reproduction of the official transcript (scan, photo, copy, etc.). So your "copy" would be sufficient as an unofficial transcript.

To order your official transcript, please visit the National Student Clearinghouse. Electronic requests are processed within 1 hour after placing the order. Mail and Hold for Pick Up Requests may take longer to process during the holidays, registration, and grading periods.

Transcripts may be requested online, by mail/fax, or in person at the Office of Student Services in Lyons Hall. Transcripts are provided to students and alumni free of charge, with one exception. Charges apply only if FedEx is selected as the mode of delivery. Transcripts are normally sent within 3 to 5 business days.

All students are required to submit an official high/secondary school transcript. This transcript must be sent by your high school and can be submitted online at commonapp.org or can be mailed (see below for address). Please note that we will not accept any academic credentials from students.
