Eligibility. The principal place of residence concession (PPR) is available as a stamp duty reduction when you buy a new or established property, valued up to $550,000, and intend to move in within 12 months of your settlement date and live there as your primary home for at least one year.

You may be entitled to a concession from duty when you buy a property that you intend to live in as your home for a continuous period of 12 months, within 12 months of settlement.

A principal place of residence (PPR) duty concession is available when you buy a new or established property valued up to $550,000, which you intend to move into within 12 months of your settlement date and live in as your primary home for at least a year.

Move into the property as your home within 12 months of settlement and live their 12 months continuously. If you buy a property with a dutiable value of $600,000 or less, you get the first home buyer stamp duty exemption. You pay zero stamp duty.

First home buyers may be eligible for a stamp duty exemption, concession or reduction. Eligible buyers purchasing a home valued at $600,000 or less can receive a stamp duty exemption. For buyers purchasing a home valued between $600,001 and $750,000, they can potentially get a concession on a sliding scale.

For the relevant laws, and unless otherwise specified in the legislation, ACT Revenue Office considers that a person's principal place of residence is: the place of residence or home that the person primarily occupies, on an ongoing and permanent basis, as the person's settled or usual home.
