The performance evaluation for paraprofessionals will consist of a classroom observation that seeks to collect evidence of a paraprofessional's positive impact on student learning.

The paraprofessional may perform these instructional duties: Hand out papers and collect paperwork. Assist with supplementary work for advanced pupils. Provide special help such as drilling with flash cards, spelling, and play activities. Assist in preparing instructional materials.

Paraprofessional skills and qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to assist in classroom instruction and learning. Great attention to detail. Ability to work closely with children. Excellent teamwork skills. Ability to remain calm and patient at all times. Knowledge of classroom subjects.

Under the supervision of a licensed teacher, a paraprofessional supports teachers and students in many ways. For instance, a paraprofessional can tutor students or assist the teacher with managing the classroom and organizing instructional materials.
