Eligible singles skaters in the United States are divided by the USFSA into the following levels: pre-preliminary, preliminary, prejuvenile, juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior, and senior.

Most difficult would be Golden Waltz, Tango Romantica, FinnStep, Yankee Polka. Keep in mind that it depends on the each individual skater which dances will adapt better with them.

Ice Dancing has two main focus areas, the "Pattern Dances", and the "Free Dance". There are two tracks for dance tests, namely pattern dance and free dance.

Eligible singles skaters in the United States are divided by the USFSA into the following levels: pre-preliminary, preliminary, prejuvenile, juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior, and senior.

In each figure skating discipline, there are either six or eight test levels, with the highest one being either “Senior” or “Gold”. When an athlete passes their senior or gold test, it is a huge accomplishment, marking many years of dedication to the sport, and their mastery of that discipline.

To compete internationally on the senior level, skaters must be at least 15 before July 1 of the preceding year. To be eligible for junior-level events, a skater must be at least 13 but under 19 before that date (or 21 for male pair skaters and ice dancers).

Senior: 15 years old (17 years old starting from the 2024-25 season) Junior: 13 years old and less than 19 years old (21 for male pair/dance skaters) Advanced Novice: 10 years old and less than 15 years old (17 for male pair/dance skaters)

U.S. Figure Skating tests serve as a prerequisite for competition and offer an opportunity for athletes to achieve personal goals in the sport. Test sessions feature a panel of U.S. Figure Skating officials and offer skaters the opportunity to highlight their abilities and advance to the next level.

Level 5: Backward outside edges on a circle (left and right) Backward inside edges on a circle (left and right) Backward continuous chasses around a circle (clockwise and counter-clockwise) Forward crossovers (clockwise and anti-clockwise)

The senior test, in a way, is a summary of every turn, edge and skill they learned over the years and it is expected to be performed at a superior level. The patterns required at each level are found in the U.S. Figure Skating Tests Book.
