The maximum unit limit for winter intersession is 6 units.

Also known as Grade Forgiveness, a course repeat is the repetition of a course for the sake of improving upon an earlier unsatisfactory performance in which the new grade replaces the old grade in the calculation of the grade point average (GPA).

Repeatable courses are defined as courses for which students may earn credit more than once. Courses that are repeatable include research and thesis courses, special topics courses and other miscellaneous courses.

Courses that may be repeated up to three times (meaning a course may be taken a total of four times). A withdrawal (W) counts as a repeat attempt.

High School Students - During the academic year, eligible high school students may enroll in a maximum of 8 units for fall and spring semesters and 5 units for summer terms and winter intersession.

Retaking a course may raise your student's GPA (grade point average). In many schools, if a student retakes a course, the most recent grade will replace the lower grade in the student's GPA. The earlier, lower grade will remain on the transcript, but will not be included in the GPA.

The maximum number of times a student may enroll in the same credit course is three times. A student may only take a class three times through a combination of substandard grades (D, F, NP or NC) and withdrawals (W) on their student record.
