Candidates may apply online with an FSMTB Examination Account or by mail. The FSMTB requires all MBLEx applicants' massage therapy education program verifies your education via the FSMTB Education Verification Center.

The MBLEx is administered at the Pearson VUE testing center. This CAT or Computer Adaptive Test will deliver questions one at a time to the candidate.

Don't Procrastinate. For the most part, your scores are good for eternity. They do not expire, meaning you can use them for license portability for years to come. However, laws can change, and some states, like Louisiana, want you to take the MBLEx within two years of applying for a license.

Once you pass the MBLEx, you do not need to pay any more money or take any classes to maintain your MBLEx result. There are no annual fees or renewal dues. Your status with the MBLEx remains constant throughout your professional career as long as you maintain a license to practice in good standing.

Click on the FSMTB Examination Center. Login to your Examination Account with your Username and Password. Click the New MBLEx Application button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Complete the application and payment information. Submit.

The MBLEx is scored on a scale from 300-900 with 630 as a minimum passing score for a massage therapist. The results are available at the testing center immediately after the exam.

Only a PASS/ FAIL designation would be printed on the candidate's handout after their exam. That means candidates will no longer know how many points away from passing they were, or if they answered all 100 questions correctly.

The answer is a little complicated, but in most cases, no. The FSMTB, who administers the MBLEx, does not limit the number of times you can take the MBLEx. But the FSMTB does limit the number of times you take the exam within a 30-day period. You can verify this information on their FAQ page.
