“Webelos” stands for “We'll Be Loyal Scouts.” As Webelos near the end of the Cub Scout trail, it's time for them to embrace that pledge and prepare for the next leg of the journey: Scouts BSA.

The main Scouting divisions are Cub Scouting for ages 5 to 11 years, Scouts BSA for ages 10 to 18, Venturing for ages 14 through 21, and Sea Scouts for ages 14 through 21.

Cub Scout pack unit coordinated camping is limited to single overnight experiences. Cub Scout camping is a family-centric program. Cub Scout youth may tent with a parent or guardian as outlined in Scouting's Barriers to Abuse. Cub Scout youth should attend the camping event with their parent(s)/ guardian(s).

A patrol tent is the traditional Scouting tent. It usually requires at least three people to pitch it. Lightweight tents are designed to be easier to pitch than patrol tents, and pitching can usually be done by one or two people, depending on the size of the tent.

Here are the 4 different types of tents: A-Frame tents, Pyramid tents, Hoop tents, and Dome tents.

The Scouts learn teamwork by meeting and working together in a den of four to ten boys or girls under adult leadership. They learn and apply the ideals codified in the Scout Oath and the Scout Law through an advancement system using age-based ranks earned by completing required and elective adventures.

WHAT TO BRING: Dinner on Friday evening is to be provided by you. Please eat before camp or bring a sack dinner. There are no personal campfires or cooking areas allowed in camp. Also bring any/all camping gear: Tent, Sleeping Bag, Sleeping Pad, Camp Chair etc.

Scouts who are in Cub Scouts in fourth grade must complete the Webelos rank before working towards the Arrow of Light.
