R-A (Residential-Agricultural) Zoning District. The R-A zoning district is intended to provide for areas appropriate for detached single-family residential dwelling units and light farming uses, each located on a single legal lot; B. R-1 (Single-Unit Residential) Zoning District.

The purpose and intent of the AR-1 district is to: (A) Support the use of land for rural economy uses, with residential uses allowed at densities consistent with the general open and rural character of the rural economy uses.

AR-2: A zoning district that allows one house per 50 acres. AR-2 zoning is most appropriate for rural areas. By Right Use: Uses or structures that are allowed under a particular zoning district classification without the need for [a special exception] legislative approval by the Board of Supervisors.

R-1 District: This district is intended to accommodate moderate density, suburban single-family residential uses and a limited number of commercial and institutional uses.

Allowed uses include agriculture and forestry and their support uses, noncommercial recreation areas and facilities, and animal care. A-1 The Agricultural District is intended to preserve areas for traditional agricultural activities and to provide for their continuation as well as to preserve areas of rural character.
