The Mastercard Alert to Control High-risk Merchants (MATCH) allows an acquiring partner to lookup whether another acquiring partner has terminated a merchant in the past and the reason for that termination, to aid in an onboarding decision.

With Zero Liability fraud protection, Mastercard provides protection from fraud when making any purchase, whether at home, on the go or in stores. Mastercard ID Theft Protection provides detection and protection against identity theft, including monitoring, alerts and expert resolution 24/7/365.

What is the MATCH List? The MATCH (Member Alert to Control High-Risk Merchants) List is a comprehensive database created and managed by Mastercard. Acquiring banks may reference the MATCH List to screen merchant applicants and determine the risk they pose prior to providing a merchant account.

Visa and MasterCard The card security code (CSC) is usually a 3 - or 4 - digit number, which is not part of the credit card number. The CSC is typically printed on the back of a credit card (usually in the signature field).

Acquirers may cite reason code 03 if they suspect or find you engaging in money laundering or transaction laundering. Money laundering takes place if you record invalid transactions in which there is no genuine cardholder.

A subset of the honor-all-cards rule is the honor-all-issuers rule. If a merchant accepts a credit card from one issuer, it must also accept credit cards from another issuer within the same network. Such a policy levels the playing field between large and small issuers.

Learn about the causes, the consequences, and how to recover from the setback. MATCH stands for Member Alert to Control High-Risk Merchants and is a merchant blacklist previously known as the Terminated Merchant File (TMF).

You can request that Mastercard remove your name from its MATCH list, especially if it was added to the list by error. If you have followed all security guidelines, you can ask your credit card processor to request that Mastercard remove you from the MATCH list.
