During the withdrawal period, no instructor permission is required and the withdrawal may usually be accomplished via LEO Online (Banner Registration) or by submitting a completed Drop/Add/Withdraw Form to the Office of the Registrar.

Withdrawal usually means the course remains on the transcript with a “W” as a grade. It does not affect the student's GPA (grade point average). Although students may be reluctant to have a “W” on their transcript, sometimes “W” stands for Wisdom.

Something may have occurred in your student's life that is preventing them from being able to focus on school — an illness, an illness or death of a family member, or some other life occurrence over which they have no control. Your student may need to consider a medical withdrawal for physical or psychological reasons.

Students who receive a grade of C– or lower (grades of C-, D+, D, D-, F, and WF) may repeat up to five courses to improve the overall grade point average. Only the first five repeated courses will be forgiven. Students are not given an option to select which course might be forgiven.

Withdraw. Students who drop classes by the drop deadline incur no financial obligation or grade for those classes. After the drop deadline, students may withdraw from classes and a financial obligation is incurred. Note: Students are NOT dropped from classes for nonpayment of tuition.
