Only the current owner, lienholder or a New Hampshire licensed dealer of a vehicle may request a duplicate title for that vehicle. Once the application is received and verified, a duplicate title will be produced and mailed to the vehicle's owner within three (3) to five (5) business days.

The replacement title fee is $15. There is an extra $5 fee for same-day instant title service. You may also request a replacement title online through ExpressSOS. Ordering a replacement title online costs $15 and the title can only be issued to the owner listed on the title document.

Transfer ownership to the buyer on the reverse side of the title by filling in buyer's name, buyer's address, and current odometer reading. Obtain signatures of seller and buyer. Give the title to the buyer.

New Hampshire does not issue titles for vehicles that have a model year of 1999 or older, except for heavy trucks with three (3) axles or more, or truck tractors whose gross vehicle weight exceeds 18,000 pounds which must always be titled regardless of age.

EXCLUSIONS: No Alabama certificate of title shall be obtained for: (a) A motor vehicle more than 35 model years old, trailer or manufactured home more than 20 model years old.
