Complete Streets in Georgia The “Complete Streets” policy describes the process whereby transportation engineers incorporate bicycle facilities on state and federally funded roadways in Georgia. It also includes design specifications for common facilities, such as bike lanes and bikable shoulders.

In California, per the California Complete Streets Act of 2008 (Assembly Bill 1358), all cities and counties are required to include complete streets policies as part of any substantial revision to the circulation element of their general plans.

Standard lane widths are 12‟. When the need for multiple lanes is not established from a traffic impact study, the minimum and maximum driveway widths are as set forth in Table 4-1.

The space needed depends on the zone of intrusion (ZOI). The Roadside Design Guide defines the ZOI as the region measured above and behind the face of a barrier system where an impacting vehicle or any major part of the system may extend during an impact, see Figure 1.

Through implementation of the Complete Streets Plan (adopted April 2021), the City aims to transform Beverly Hills from an auto-dominated community to one that embraces all modes of travel, reduces vehicle trips on our streets, and can be truly considered a world class bicycling city.

The term “Complete Streets” refers to a systematic policy to improve all public streets, through design, construction, operations, and/or maintenance, so that the right-of-way can serve everyone.

Complete Streets are streets for everyone. Complete Streets is an approach to planning, designing, building, operating, and maintaining streets that enables safe access for all people who need to use them, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities.

The recommended clear zone ranges are based on a width of 30 to 32 feet for flat, level terrain adjacent to a straight section of a 60mph highway with an average daily traffic of 6000 vehicles.
